May and June 2015

Things that happened in May and June:

Father and Sons: the boys had a blast! The hiking is always is big hit with these three.

While trying on shoes Steven stored his flip flops in a safe place...

My mother's day loot. Jacob gave me the beautiful flowers and chocolate (he knows me) and Steven wanted give a picture with me and him in a frame. I loved it.

This was probably my favorite though.  I made one of these plates growing up and was delighted to see Steven did the same and that his picture was pretty close to mine as well!

Mom's and Muffins: A time to come and read with Steven at school

If Spencer wants something nothing can deter him from getting it.  I recorded Spencer following Max around wanting this yogurt container for 20 minutes, crying the whole time.  He eventually got it and all was right in his world.

Family bike rides that take longer because boys can't pass up chances to throw rocks into the water.

Garbage bag kites

These boys came with me for my pregnancy appointments and did marvelous!

New park exploring

Ryan fell on the sidewalk and cut his lip pretty bad.

Max loves to push the scooters around like he's a big boy.

Such a cute big boy!

Steven was in his first dance festival!  He did so great!  But like an awesome mom, I actually didn't push record on my phone, but know I was proud and he really was great!

Some moments are just plain wonderful.  Seeing all the boys playing happily in our backyard on a wonderful evening. Magical

Sometimes we are spontaneous and go to Nickle City and the boys have the time of their lives! And half the kids are in pj's in the middle of the day, but whatever right!?

Steven likes to pretend to be daddy so he can stay up later and eat ice cream.  Sometimes we actually let him do those things because we think he's just so cute!

A snack William and Ryan got for themselves and Christopher.  Syrup in a cup anyone!?

When the floor looks like this and none of the kids want to clean it up, Jacob makes games into the legos and builds Lego Bombs.

And build towers to see who can be the first one to throw a lego and knock it down.

Steven was super excited for me to take his picture for the last day of school.

Steven did so well in his graduation and was excited to say hi to his younger brothers as he passed us, didn't even acknowledge his parents.

We LOVED Mrs. Narveaz!

More time in the front yard! Max started to stand by himself and walk short distances these months.  He's so proud of himself, but has no desire to start walking all the time.  Which is fine with his parents!

I LOVE our neighborhood!

Getting ready for a new race.
Watching our nephew race.

He's so speedy!

Cute kids at McDonalds

Steven made it to church with no shoes, socks on backwards, and pants undone.

Ryan didn't want to leave when I said it was time to go, but I was hot and I had just carried Spencer and Max to the car and wasn't feeling great. So I sat in the car waiting for him to come.  He stood and cried.  Steven felt bad for him and went over and carried him to the car while Ryan was crying the whole time and fighting to be put down.  I know I was being a bad mom, but it was just too funny.

We were working in the yard and I noticed William and Ryan had been in the house a little too long by themselves.  I came in to find Ryan at the bottom of the stairs and William at the top with a container of ice cream with two spoons in it and two otter pops in his hand. I took the ice cream and William took that moment to hurry and give Ryan the other otter pop so I couldn't take it away. These two...

One Saturday adventure we ended up at Smiths where they just happened to be giving away free small ice cream cones, it was meant to be.  Spencer and Max were in heaven.
Max likes to give everyone a heart attack ALWAYS standing up in carts.

Another syrup episode at our house.  This time it was all over the kitchen floor with Spencer licking it up with his whole body being a sticky mess.  After having messes like this with cereal we stopped buying cereal, but we couldn't stop buying syrup since we have a lot more pancakes, waffles... I learned and moved it to the top shelf of the fridge.  So far so good.

We went to the Balls Family Reunion in June to Bear Lake.  It was so great!  We rented a big cabin that fit all 43 of us, there was always a party going on.

Our packed van

putting 6 boys down to bed in the same room was a bit of a joke.
Good thing we had family there help us out
Friday morning we went on a hike (Spencer and Max stayed home for a nap) I was in heaven and all our boys loved it as well.  William and Ryan did great and did the whole thing themselves.

I didn't get a picture of Steven or Christopher because they were always at the front of the pack with their cousin buddies.

After the hike we went to the KOA and rode some bikes.

The kids loved it.

Jacob took Steven and some older cousins fishing while everyone else got a little wet and wild.

That night we took family pictures on a beautiful hill where we had mountains on one side and the lake on the other. It was hot, with bugs all around, but here are the gems we got.

The grass was so high it was hard to see the kids running around

waiting for our turn

Saturday we went to the beach, which I don't have any pictures from on my camera.  But the boys, expect Max, had a great time. That night we went to eat with just the adults for a fun date

We may have gone out to eat a raspberry shake every night.  My favorite shake was not this place, but this sign made me laugh so much that we had to stop here as well for one. Every place advertises that they have the most famous shakes, since Bear Lake is famous for their Raspberry shakes, but these guys knew how to get attention.  Overall we had a fabulous reunion!

Spencer laid like this for quite some time on the verge of falling.

The raspberries we had waiting for us after Bear Lake!
Golden raspberries are our favorite!

While playing outside we found a baby bird chirping loudly, but no nest or mom in sight.  The boys followed it around for a while until William and Ryan started to hit it and throw toys on it....yeah this is why we don't have pets.  Luckily the bird lived and we found it in a neighbor's yard later that night, hopefully then the mom found it and helped it to safety.

We started potty training randomly at the end of June. There will be another post on that later, but know that in June potty training was pretty good.
Ryan and William

There is something about little boys in just undies. So cute!

Petting zoo put on by the library

Ryan

Steven confused who he was allowed to pet.  Ryan was more convenient here.

I love when Christopher falls asleep when "he's not tired"
More story time crafts: or scissor fights if you're William and Ryan

We had our sister-in-law and most of her kids come and stay with us for a few days and we had a blast! Just like we always do.

SO GOOD!

We're not the best at Family Home Evening but this time we actually had one planned, so it needed to be documented.
