Two 2 year olds!

Question:  What do you get two 2 year olds for their birthday that they will like but won't just add to the pile of toys littering your floor?
Answer:  Small colorful whisks (and some spatulas of all shapes) that they can chew on and play with so they won't destroy your kitchen utensils and leave them all over the floor.

I cannot believe these boys are two, maybe it's because we have baby twins again, but I just can't believe how cute and big they are!  We started off the day with lots of hugs and pictures with mom and dad.

Then presents.  The good thing about the birthdays for two year olds:  you can cram everything into a bag and call it good.  They don't know the difference.  Along with the kitchen utensils they got balls, bubbles, and shoes from us.  Grandma and Grandpa Balls gave them cute outfits along with a couple of books.  Grandma and Grandpa Morrise gave them fun string along objects.

Since they had their two year checkup my brother Matt came over to watch the other boys, but before we left Ryan got really lethargic for about 30 minutes for no reason we could tell of.  I was glad we were about to go to the doctor to check everything just to make sure.  And while we were there they couldn't see anything wrong and he didn't do it again.  Trying to cheer him up, Uncle Matt let him snuggle and watch some videos on his phone.

These guys were so excited to see the fish in the lobby.

William is 32 lbs 6 oz (92%) and 35.5 inches (85%) and Ryan is 31 lbs 4 oz (85%) and 36.2 inches (94%).  Both super healthy and everything looked great!  I've been a bit worried about their speech, or lack thereof, but the doctor said that's normal for twins and also the more older siblings you have the longer they typically take to talk.  He said if they haven't made much progress in the next 6 months we'll call in for some help, but until then keep doing what we're doing!  Since it was their birthday and they are just so cute and we have the best nurse, she gave them a present.

And honestly I'm not sure they could get any cuter!
We went home and played in the front yard till dad came home.  Once again two year olds are easy to please: outdoors, balls, bubbles.  And it's the best day ever!

For dinner we went to McDonalds and let them run around the play area (something I'm sure they've never done) and get happy meals (again something that never happens)

I asked them to say cheese and this is what I got...

We were a bit better on our side
(oh and Spencer and Max are on the inside of the bench in case you were worried)
A couple of cakes for my easy to please boys.  Chocolate frosting on chocolate cake with M&Ms, what more do you need?  Ice cream is what else and they ate all the M&Ms and frosting with ice cream and they were done!

They weren't too sure about what to do with the candles and everyone singing...

...but William took the first step and Ryan soon followed
These boys have so many people wrapped around their fingers, and rightly so.  They were angel babies and adorable toddlers!  They truly make quite the duo.

William is funny.  He is smart.  He might not talk a whole lot but he knows what you're saying and will try everything he can to do it his way as well.  He is also very proud of himself and his growing abilities even if they are things that we don't appreciate.  Here he got himself the rest of the loaf of zucchini bread and came outside to eat his snack.

And this picture below, I know is blurry, but it's just such a classic William face.  Yesterday while I was cooking supper he kept getting in the fridge and grabbing things so I took a dish towel and tied it to the handles so he couldn't open it any more.  The next thing I know he's hitting me and clapping wanting to show me how pleased he is with himself.  He had removed the dish towel and put it back in the drawer.  He can be very snuggly if he wants to be and loves books.  He eats pretty well...on his terms, which often means walking around with a cereal bowl in his hand or at his feet.  He likes to dump food, water, really anything on the floor and proceed to consume it from there.  He's learned to open doors and loves to play in the sink in the bathroom.  (I'm just glad he's moved from the toilet to the sink!)  He likes to help feed his little brother's their bottles (when he's not sneaking a few sips himself) but he can be the only one holding the bottle.  No one else can touch it, not even the baby.  He's also great at grabbing burp rags or blankets to clean them up when they've spit up. He's adorable, smart, spunky, funny, and sweet.  We're so glad he's ours!

Ryan is sweet on the outside but can be very sneaky when he wants to be.  He also likes to help feed his little brothers but mostly cereal he's picked up off of the floor, don't judge.  He will quickly grab one and stuff it in their mouth and then run away because he knows he's not supposed to do it.  (We're just glad Spencer and Max are still alive).  Ryan gives the best hugs, kisses, and zrbtts (raspberries).  There was a time whenever I'd give him a hug he'd rub my back as well like he was comforting me.
Ryan eats pretty well, occasionally he won't touch his dinner but he is one of my best kids at trying everything at least once.  And usually if he hasn't finished his lunch he'll grab it to take to bed with him.  He is starting to love books as well and sitting through for most of them.  He hasn't quite figured out how to open doors, but he's right there when one of his brothers opens it for him.  He loves taking a bath and will try to take one at any time of the day. He also loves to dump everything like his brother.  He especially loves to dump dirt on himself and his brothers' head.

This kid loves to put socks on his hands.  He can often be found this way either before or after nap time.  He loves to play with his brothers but will most likely sit back and watch for a while first, and then he'll join in.  He's also the one who's most likely to get hit and bruised or hurt somehow.  When he does he comes crying but all he needs is a touch from me and he's just fine again.  He's a pretty tough kid!  He's also really smart and understands a lot more than he can communicate.  He will often push me around to get what he wants.  Literally he pushes me away from the counter so I HAVE to look at him to see what he wants.  He also will get what he wants.  If he can't reach it normally, he'll move a chair or stool to get it!  He is loud, smart, funny, crazy, and so stinking cute.  We adore him with all our heart!
Disclaimer:  These boys are cute and just might make me go insane.  I recently heard 4 is a good age for twin boys, I'm hoping for sooner for the sake our house.  Here is a snippet of what has been going on in our house.
Chocolate sauce of the floor taste better then straight from the bottle...
...at least it matched the stains from the day before.
And now there's strawberry sauce to match as well.
The first time I cried, the second I laughed.  I'm learning too.

Nothing is safe from these boys...
...especially Ryan

Banana aftermath

How it happened.  They love bananas
So much cereal has ended up like this.

And now they've moved on to baby formula.

Once again, it a good thing they are so cute!  They make us laugh and cry at the same time for multiple reasons.  But I guess that's how is goes with multiples.
